Hello,

since a couple of days i've been having trouble with my pc, and it seems to be getting worsened... I am by nary means a pc-good but accept tried and true to fix this myself with the help of older threads in this forum, unfortunatly to no help...

It started a couple of days ago, while gaming (old games, so cpu/gpu technically shouldnt be being overworked) my PC screen would go black, fans to full speed and would only shut off if i held the power button. At first this seemed to only happen when gambling, with the time before going black comme il faut shorter (around 1-5 min in game) simply and so too started natural event while browsing... Using a program i curbed to envision if CPU/ GPU temps were ok, and they were fine...

what i have proved insofar:

  1. first i though the GPU was overheating, indeed i renewed the outpouring paste on it, likewise abstracted well-nig all dust in spite of appearanc the pc, still going black while gambling..
  2. I downloaded Whocrashed, but it didnt seem to register any crash...
  3. using MSI Afterburner, i put together the Clock and Retentiveness to about half, this allowed Pine Tree State to play my game without crashing, however crashing still sometimes occured while browsing
  4. thinking this was the PSU (as it is already about 5 years old) i bought a new PSU (Same electrical power, newer model from same company), after installing it, pc wont even startup, upon turning on directly to mordant screen and sounding fans...
  5. with other PSU in, i readjust the CMOS by shorting the 2 pins on my motherboard, even so directly to black screen when turning computer on..

Now I am thinking either the GPU or  the motherboard is messed up, leaning towards motherboard but i wanted to see if maybe something else could be the source of the problem. Maybe you guys have whatsoever suggestions or solutions?? Any help would be appreciated

Unfortunately i cannot do them now, because when i turn my microcomputer thereon goes directly to melanise sieve with fans gushing.

My knowledge of these gpu's is lacking but from what you're saying you may induce damaged the GPU.   Try what Mikey said, though if it won't boot I don't see any option but to seek another GPU.  Is there whatever way to bypass the GPU on that pc?  Are there integrated graphics thereon cpu?  If so maybe just pull the gpu and realise if it will boot to a screen.

I dont recall my C.P.U. has integrated graphics and i do not have a spare GPU at the moment. I was thinking of buying a new mobo, to see if that fixes the problem, perhaps i should rather buy a new gpu first? (i cannot purchase both right now because not enough money... :/ )

I dont know if this changes anything, just there is no beep when the personal computer turns on anymore, which is why i'm thought this is a mobo issue. If IT were the GPU causing the black screen, the Mobo would still beep or would it non?

You could also equitable reseat the ram, and even try it in different slots, all free stuff to do.

I take over tested this, reseating both sticks seperately in both slots. This didnt fix the problem though... Its not apt that both Ram down sticks died i dont call back?
